LAST QC before FINAL

So in the last QC with Sir Emmanuel, we both come up with the idea of combining the 2 concept which later become having the idea of Fatamorgana of a very large kingdom in a desert showing its the kingdom of heaven. the surrounding is very flat and quiet making the kingdom to be the focal point. for the contrasting idea it is to be an angel, which is fantasy. a fallen angel with an unpure heart that can't enter the kingdom of heaven. The message to be sent is actually a lot. This art piece is my projection of world's apocalypse where only pure hearted people can enter the heaven and even if you are an angel but you have an unpure heart, you can't enter it.

These are the four elements used in my artpiece.

 this is the final product, i played the color and made it much paler to get the feeling of peace and the clouds used for the background is upside down. the middle light is to show the glory of the kingdom. and the bridge original from the picture is erased and changed by taking the left part and paste/smooth it in the right.

Surrealism: Idea and Concept

So for the final project of our Image Manipulation class, we're assigned to make a Surrealism artwork. On the first week we're told to do research on surrealism artworks and do some mind map to come up for our own idea. I then came out with an idea which is with 2 main idea; ' The Staircase to Heaven' and 'World's Apocalypse'.

Why I came up with these 2 main ideas? mmh, its actually because im interested in religious stuffs since i was a kid, and as a kid, i have my own imagination on how the world apocalypse will look like and i thought why not show what i imagine of the world? how i imagine the world is there will be a floating kingdom and the surrounding area is all dead, dark and gloomy and only the floating kingdom shines showing it is the only place where life will be.

I've made 2 moodboards to have the look and feel for my final artwork. and these are the moodboards:

Tutorials on Combining Vector and Pixels into an artwork

I founded 3 interesting tutorials on combining vector and pixels to create a very nice artworks.

The first site is spoongraphics. This is a blog made by a UK designer. The tutorials on the page is very easy to follow and also clear. I learned some new techniques in the tutorial.

Webwasp - UK

The second site is webwasp-UK. It is a site also from UK, but this time is for applying a vector logo to an object. The tutorial is to be said for beginners so it wasnt that difficult. The good thing is also they provide the files for this tutorial.

Adobe Photoshop CS4 Official Resources

The third site is adobe. The tutorial is from the official adobe photoshop website. The tutorial wasnt actually very clear for newbies. This wasn't even actually a tutorial but a brief explanations on combining vectors and bitmaps. The explanation is quite clear for people that already understands photoshop good enough. 

In Class Exercise : Selection Tool in Photoshop (Results)

 In this assignment, I used the magic wand tool and selected on the background of the photo. Then I inverted my selection to the Tiger. I then played with the refine edges options and get quite  a smooth result in getting rid of the background.

Tutorials on Fixing and Modifying Old Photos
